Activities of SRDS for the months of January to June 2008.
Seva Rural Development Society is actively involved in the empowerment of women, children and elders in Thiruvallur District. Apart from the regular activities several other programme were organized for the betterment of these sections of people.
SRDS not only works for the empowerment of people but also focuses its attention to create integrity and unity among people. In order to prove this we celebrated Pongal ( the festival of harvest) from 16th to 19th of January in five zones covering 16 villages.
On 13th January our women group won District first in drama competition on women empowerment and child abuse.
On January 22nd AIDS awareness programme was organized in one of the villages and the resource person was Ms Thangamani an active member in Tamil Nadu state government, Tiruvallur District. As it is a burning issue one more awareness programme was conducted in another village by Mr.Arulraj the Education Director of International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS.
In March 19 drop out students appeared for their 10th public examination and 11 of them passed in all the subjects.
In collaboration with Ahok Leyland company SRDS started a tailoring unit in Ennore for the fishermen community and 42 women and learning their life shills.
SRDS invites all those who are willing to join with us to bring smiles on the faces of these underprivileged through your little contribution. Cheque/Demand Drafts to be drawn in favour of “Society of Seva Missionaries”.
All contributions to SRDS are exempt from Income Tax under Section 80G and 12AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, No.DIT (E) No 2 (848) 07-08.
